Guess the book

Random book I've been reading:

“My meaning simply is, that whatever I have tried to do in life, I have tried with all my heart to do well; that whatever I have devoted myself to, I have devoted myself to completely; that in great aims and in small, I have always been thoroughly in earnest.”

David Copperfield by Dickens

my turn10

“Some people bring out the worst in you, others bring out the best, and then there are those remarkably rare, addictive ones who just bring out the most. Of everything.
They make you feel so alive that you'd follow them straight into hell, just to keep getting your fix.”

Da-ne duduita un indiciu ca murim aici.

Duduie?23 not nice. in fine, este dintr-una din cartile de Karen Marie Moning, din seria Fever. Destule indicii?

"...all the suffering that humanity ever knew can be traced to the one fact that no man in the history of the Galaxy, until Hari Seldon, and very few men thereafter, could really understand one another. Every human being lived behind an impenetrable wall of choking mist within which no other but he existed. Occasionally there were the dim signals from deep within the cavern in which another man was located - so that each might grope toward the other. Yet because they did not know one another, and could not understand one another, and dared not trust one another, and felt from infancy the terrors and insecurity of that ultimate isolation - there was the hunted fear of man for man, the savage rapacity of man toward man.”

PS: Este o serie foarte buna.

P.S. DUDÚIE ~i f. [Art. duduia; G.-D. duduie; Sil. -du-ie] /cf. turc. dudu

Am primit confirmarea feciori.

Let me but imagine a topic — say... men who have died by the sword— and I have them in all of their gore, every image intact, every moan, every grimace. Joys of motherhood, I think, and the birthing beds are mine. Serial baby smiles and the sweet cooings of new generations. The first walkings of toddlers and the first victories of youths brought forth for me to share. They tumble one upon another until I can see little else but sameness and repitition. "Keep it all intact," I warn myself. Who can deny the value of such experiences, the worth of the learning through which I view each new instant? Ahhh, but it's the past. Don't you understand? It's only the past!

4th book in the Dune series.

Next:

"In relating the circumstances which have led to my confinement within this
refuge for the demented, I am aware that my present position will create a
natural doubt of the authenticity of my narrative. It is an unfortunate fact
that the bulk of humanity is too limited in its mental vision to weigh with
patience and intelligence those isolated phenomena, seen and felt only by a
psychologically sensitive few, which lie outside its common experience. Men of
broader intellect know that there is no sharp distinction betwixt the real and
the unreal; that all things appear as they do only by virtue of the delicate
individual physical and mental media through which we are made conscious of
them; but the prosaic materialism of the majority condemns as madness the
flashes of supersight which penetrate the common veil of obvious empricism."

The tomb by H P Lovecraft.

The movement of humanity, arising as it does from innumerable arbitrary human wills, is continuous. To understand the laws of this continuous movement is the aim of history. But to arrive at these laws, resulting from the sum of all those human wills, man's mind postulates arbitrary and disconnected units. The first method of history is to take an arbitrarily selected series of continuous events and examine it apart from others, though there is and can be no beginning to any event, for one event always flows uninterruptedly from another.
The second method is to consider the actions of some one man- a king or a commander- as equivalent to the sum of many individual wills; whereas the sum of individual wills is never expressed by the activity of a single historic personage.
